Ladies and gentlemen (do I have any gentlemen? Nate doesn't count since I just go up to him waving knitted items going, "looky!!") I have a SOCK.
Granted, socks usually come in pairs. But as I am knitting them one at a time, I am 50% done with my first knitted socks. And I am already queuing up more patterns to try. I think I am going to look into trying two at a time on my second pair. With nicer yarn. And I might need to buy size 2.5mm needles.
As I stayed home sick from work yesterday and today - well, I worked from home and only worked a half day each day - I had plenty of sickly knitting time. As I watched my yarn skein rapidly dwindle I began to worry I wouldn't have enough per skein per sock. Definitely could not get a whole pair from one skein that's for sure. I kept trying my sock on as I went to and was very happy when it went from this:
to this:
Yeah for one sock done!!
ReplyDeleteIt's always grand when you finish a sock. I just finished one the other day, too...and I'm a good couple inches into the second one. Hooooray for socks :)
ReplyDeleteWhoop whoop! Lovely sock :) glad to hear you are planning your next pair, sock knitting is addictive isn't it!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your first sock!!!! Great to hear you're already planning more - that's very exciting! I'm making my first 2 at a time (apart from the little sample socks) and loving it! I would definitely say give it a go!
ReplyDeleteThanks for knitting along
xx
Woot!! It definitely looks like a sock! I'm just starting out in the knitting side of life and haven't progressed to socks ... but I'm dreaming of them!
ReplyDeleteNow that you've knit a sock (or two maybe by now), you should think about trying some fancy socks. Hunter Hammersen (http://www.violentlydomestic.com) has some gorgeous sock patterns, but they are addictive. Don't say I didn't warn you. (I don't make any money from pushing her work. I'm just a big fan of her designs. BIG fan.) :)
ReplyDeleteHeh - no I'm only at one sock so far. I took a break to finish my Hitchhiker Shawl and start the gloves :) I will probably work on sock #2 after I finish my first mitt.
DeleteThose patterns are awesome! Thank you for sharing :D
