Day 1 & 2 of 14(ish) Days of Thankfulness

I am joining in on a fun little blogging game that Grace is hosting where each day you post about something you are thankful for.  This will probably go off the knitting topic a little bit, so feel free to read if you want...and if you don't, no hard feelings. Plus, it gives me something to post about other than WIPs and FOs LOL

There are only 12 days left until Thanksgiving, so I'm going to include the first two in one post.

Day 1:

Today I am thankful for sleeping in.  It was something that I took for granted while unemployed, and this past week of waking up at 5:15 a.m. daily to get my butt to work definitely was not fun. But, I'm super proud of myself for not hitting the snooze button at all.

Day 2:

Today I am thankful for my kitty, Chloe

She totally stole my spot on the couch
I usually mention Sumo, my dog, more than Chloe. But Chloe is pretty awesome if I do say so myself. I've had her since she was a kitten and I was almost a Junior in High School (about 11 years ago) ...and I love her very much.  She is pretty stinky.  She likes to eat...a lot (her vet called her morbidly obese). Occasionally, I find a  hair ball in a not so fun place. But, despite all that, she is super lovey-dovey and likes to cuddle.

She also likes to pick on Sumo. She hates other cats, but she is OK with dogs. And by OK with dogs....she tackles the little man like a gazelle. Seriously, I think I saw her gnaw on his leg. She also likes to run up behind him and bat at his fluffy tail.

A few years ago we went through some major health issues with her, and spent a lot of money to get her feeling a-ok, so I'm very thankful she is still with me.

She is awesome when it comes to knitting - she doesn't try to attack my yarn or anything. Sometimes she likes to crawl on top of my project when she wants to sit in my lap..but other than that she could care less.

  1. My cat ignores my knitting and my yarn. If the yarn is moving she'll swat at it but other than that, doesn't care. She's quite lazy too and I wouldn't be surprised if she becomes "morbidly obese" as well. She can be quite a piggy.

  2. A cat that doesn't attack your yarn?! Definitely a keeper!

  3. She's adorable, I didn't know you had a cat! And the kitty we've adopted isn't interested in yarn either, though she does like to curl up on sewing projects, especially when I'm cutting them out on the floor
