{WIP} Knitting with fish nets

This post is typed with one hand as my other hand is currently soaking in water because I am a klutz who burned my fingers while making pizza.

Ahem.

I started another Christmas present...a ruffle scarf for my high school aged cousin Tori.  This "yarn" is like knitting with fish net stockings. Seriously who thought to knit with this stuff in the first place?  Once I figured it out, it's pretty easy to knit with and I think she will love it :)

In other news...I'm sorry I haven't been commenting on blogs as much the past few days. I was in Salem, Ma with my mom and dad for Halloween :) I will try to catch up.

  1. I've knit with that yarn - takes some getting used to, doesn't it?! It's looking great, love the colours you chose.

Hope your fingers heal quickly - I once burned the entire palm of my hand and the insides of all my fingers... Not fun at all :(

  2. I'm going it one handed too but for another reason-my had is hurting from all the typing I've been having to do at work. I'm headed to the doc at lunch to see if he can give me something.

I like the look of the yarn! I saw that and said the same thing but it looks like it works up very nice.

I hope your finger is OK. Burns hurt so much.

  4. I've used that yarn as well! It's one of those novelty things that I saw and figured "why not try it at least once" except I did the crochet version. Those purples are so vibrant, love it!

  5. I managed to give myself a second-degree burn with a popcorn kernel on Halloween. Klutzes of the world, unite?

Love the color of your scarf!

  6. This is why I avoid novelty yarns like the plague. They make me want to rip my hair out. ;)

  7. Sorry to hear about your damaged finger, hope it heals quickly and doesn't slow you down too much. Cool scarf! It looks like it would be pretty quick to make and great payoff in the end.

  12. I'm never sure what I think of that yarn. I can't figure out how it works which I don't think helps. I don't like it in most colours but that scarf looks good!

  16. Oh my goodness that yarn is intriguing looking! It looks adorable in a ruffle - I just know she will love it!

Salem on Halloween - how cool is that!

I use neosporin on blisters - works like charm, don't know if it would help or not in this situation...
