{WIP} Broken Bones

Over the weekend I finished the garter stitch section of Multnomah and started the feather and fan section.  I think the author could have written it a little clearer, but the helpful notes section of Ravelry is very helpful.

I managed to do three out of the ten f&f repeats and it is so darn cute.  I can't wait to see it after I block it.

I also picked up yarn for Jackie's present...I was trying to find madeline tosh chunky, but all the local retailer's seemed to be out :(  I found something else I like but am still bummed.

Sadly, this might be my last WIP post for a little while.  Tuesday morning on my way to work, I hit a spot of black ice, lost control of my beloved Mini...and slammed into a jersey barrier.  I don't think my vehicle is totaled...but the same can't be said for my left wrist.  I broke it - although the correct term is shattered.  I shattered the distal radius and have a hair line fracture in my ulna.  I get a cast on Thursday but in the meantime I've got a sling and a splint.  I used to think I had a high tolerance for pain....yeah, yesterday proved me wrong.
trying to decide what color cast I want

  7. I think an arm injury is my worst nightmare! I am soooo sorry.
Also, in response to the post above, and I know this is not fair to share given your hiatus from knitting, but Windsor has Madelinetosh.
I hope the pain becomes more bearable and that you have a full and speedy recovery. Warm mohair hugs sent your way, e

  10. Ohhh noes. :-( I'm glad you're okay, but I'd rather have a broken foot than a broken wrist. Months of no raveling is a sad, sad fate.

  16. Even high tolerances can be exceeded. I can't say that I've ever broken a bone but I have suffered from gout, which I hear is very close. Hope you heal quickly.

  19. Oh gosh, but there's a lot of that going around during/after the holidays! Take it easy, and I am sure once you start healing you will find a way back to the Multnomah, lol. Take plenty of calcium - builds bones quicker!
