"It's so FLUFFY!!!!!" |
I found the yarn for the Marian cowl...it's DeAire by Plymouth Yarn company and it is super squishy and lovely. The picture doesn't do the color justice...it's almost a lime green with threads of yellow in it. The color is aptly named Portland -- which I will be visiting on my way to Bar Harbor tomorrow! And at 109 yards, it gives me a little bit of cushion...so hopefully no worrying about running out of yarn!
And a very special thanks to my friend Amy who is lending me her US19 Addi Turbos. Seriously, it's going to be like knitting with a nunchuck or something.
Nice squishy looking yarn. I cant wait to see the finished object! Oh, and yeah 19s? Definitely pretty awkward. But so quick!
ReplyDeleteI haven't been there, but I've heard that the Portland yarn shop, Knit Wit, is supposed to be amazing.

They carry Quince and Co. yarn that I am dying to use, but I can only order it online. I want to see and feel it so badly! Unfortunately I can't bring myself to pay shipping without a big project in mind.
The other must see LYS is Purl Diva in Brunswick! I stopped in there this summer and was very inspired and didn't want to leave. They, too, carry Quince Yarns. And Jennifer, I would gamble on trying some even with the cost of shipping. I used it to make a Cabled Hat last year and I loved how the project turned out.
ReplyDeleteOOOh squishy! I hope the cowl goes well!
