Portland

"It's so FLUFFY!!!!!"
I found the yarn for the Marian cowl...it's DeAire by Plymouth Yarn company and it is super squishy and lovely.  The picture doesn't do the color justice...it's almost a lime green with threads of yellow in it. The color is aptly named Portland -- which I will be visiting on my way to Bar Harbor tomorrow! And at 109 yards, it gives me a little bit of cushion...so hopefully no worrying about running out of yarn!

And a very special thanks to my friend Amy who is lending me her US19 Addi Turbos.  Seriously, it's going to be like knitting with a nunchuck or something.

  1. Nice squishy looking yarn. I cant wait to see the finished object! Oh, and yeah 19s? Definitely pretty awkward. But so quick!

  2. I haven't been there, but I've heard that the Portland yarn shop, Knit Wit, is supposed to be amazing.

They carry Quince and Co. yarn that I am dying to use, but I can only order it online. I want to see and feel it so badly! Unfortunately I can't bring myself to pay shipping without a big project in mind.

  3. The other must see LYS is Purl Diva in Brunswick! I stopped in there this summer and was very inspired and didn't want to leave. They, too, carry Quince Yarns. And Jennifer, I would gamble on trying some even with the cost of shipping. I used it to make a Cabled Hat last year and I loved how the project turned out.
